Description
Please Note: this option has been largely
replaced by the much simpler
And Subdomains Of (subdomainsof) option.
We recommend that you consider using that option instead.
The And These Subdomains (subdomains) option is used to grant
certain subdomains the same importance normally
accorded to a top-level domain. If a subdomain is
listed in the And These Subdomains (subdomains) option,
it will appear in the ranking of domains
and the domain pie charts alongside other
top-level domains. This option is
useful for company Intranets, on which most
accesses come from subdomains within the
company and not from other top-level domains.
Listing a subdomain in the And These Subdomains (subdomains)
option does not guarantee that, for instance,
it will be one of the top ten domains accessing the
server most often. If you wish to examine
small subdomains or individual machine host names
on a server that is accessed by the outside
world, you may wish to use the
Allowed Sites (allowsites) option to exclude outside accesses from
your analysis. If the And These Subdomains (subdomains)
option and the And Subdomains Of (subdomainsof) option are both absent,
only top-level domains will appear in the domains listing and pie chart.
