Wusage 8.0 Manual
ignore Option
To reach this option in the configuration file editor,
follow these steps:
1. Edit Configuration
2. Configure Filters...
3. Ignored Documents...
If you prefer to manually edit your configuration files,
use the following syntax for this option:
Example
ignore
#A pattern matching files you do not wish to see in your reports
/personal/*
end ignore
Description
The Ignored Documents (ignore) option indicates which documents
will be ignored by wusage. Documents that
match any of the patterns listed
for the Ignored Documents (ignore) option will be
ignored completely by wusage. Each character
of the document name is matched against the pattern.
An * in the pattern matches any
number of characters in the document name.
Patterns have additional features, including support for regular expressions; for more information about
patterns, see the Patterns and Regular Expressions
section.
In previous releases, this feature was often used to ignore
accesses to images. We do not recommend this in 8.0 and above,
because the object types feature ensures
that these are listed in separate subreports, allowing the statistics
for web pages to be seen separately without the need to sacrifice
statistics for images.
Note that the Remove These Suffixes (suffixes) option is applied first. If
the Ignored Documents (ignore) option is absent, no documents will be ignored.
