Wusage: Silly Name, Serious Stats!

Wusage 8.0 Manual

dnscachedays Option

To reach this option in the configuration file editor, follow these steps:

1. Edit Configuration
2. Cache DNS Results for This Many Days

If you prefer to manually edit your configuration files, use the following syntax for this option:

Example
#Keep DNS information for 60 days
dnscachedays 60

Description

The Cache DNS Results for This Many Days (dnscachedays) option determines how long the result of each reverse DNS lookup is kept for reuse. This option makes it possible for later runs of Wusage to reuse DNS information learned by earlier runs. For more information, see the DNS Resolution (IPs->Names) (dns) option.

Keeping DNS information for more than 90 days is not recommended, because IP addresses are reassigned to new computers from time to time.
