This is the final year of the Lettered Edge Capped Bust half dollars and the highest mintage of the entire series. The Mint recorded 6,546,200 coins for this date. This coinage includes 23 varieties from 18 obverse and 20 reverse dies. Only one die marriage is considered rare with one other scarce. The Logan Collection includes 28 coins.

The entire series of Capped Bust half dollars from 1807 through 1836 was minted to the total of 82,341,124 coins consisting of 449 die marriages produced for circulation. In addition, four others were coined only in Proof format. The average coinage per variety was 183,387 half dollars. This is a highly collectible variety not only for date and major variety collectors, but for specialists as well. The majority of these varieties were produced by hand, with numerous unique characteristics. Each die variety has its own unique charm and personality.

The reverse is lightly cracked from the edge to left wing tip, olive leaves, and tail feathers.
