This variety is from the same reverse also used for 1828 O-101. This is a remarrige with the emission sequence 1827 O-108, 1828 O-101, 1827 O-108, 1828 O-101.

In the description for each of six lots including three examples of this marriage and three of 1828 O-101, we have provided die state rankings for the reverse die. States a through f refer just to these six coins and not otherwise to die states of this reverse die, however, these descriptions could certainly be adopted.

This example has a patch of raised die dots below IT of UNITED, about half way to the wing. There is no trace of the die chipping that later fills the top of F.
