Doubled edge. Lightly cleaned with silver gray surfaces and peripheral toning. Faint scratches follow Liberty's profile and give the false appearance of a doubled profile. A very scarce variety that was not listed in Overton's first edition of 1967.

The obverse has a die crack from the border right of the date, curving up into the drapery and across the bust, disappearing in the left obverse field.

FIFTY CENTS OROR HALF A DOLLAR.

Purchased April 1, 2000 from Charles Erb.
