Lovely golden brown with wisps of iridescent toning. Some verdigris on the reverse. Very minor obverse rim bruise at 12:00. The obverse is a little bluntly struck while the reverse is quite well detailed. This is considered one of the more difficult among Rarity-5 die varieties. Although not a Condition Census coin, this is clearly finer than many. The Richard Pugh coin, for example, was just Good. This is a most important opportunity for the specialist. Acquired February 2, 1992 from Wayne Smith. |
