This is an exceptional example with considerable aesthetic appeal. Very light gray with steel and heather toning. Extremely sharp strike and with virtually complete lustre.

Very faint obverse clash marks in addition to the heavy ridge brom border to cap, a hallmark of this obverse die. The reverse has light clash marks and die cracks.

From Sheridan Downey's Sale #23, March 1999, Lot 5. Ex Floyd Farley. Earlier from O'Brien, December 1965.
