Lightly cleaned with silvery gray surfaces and very faint traces of gold toning. Some lustre remains visible. The obverse has very weak central details while the reverse is much more sharply defined. This example is within the top 10 reported in the JRCS Half Dollar Census. Probably among the top 20 examples overall.

Late die state with extensive obverse clash marks and cracks. A bulge is visible at Liberty's chin. The reverse also has die cracks and clash marks, although not as heavy.

Purchased November 1980 at a Buffalo, New York coin show.
