A lovely example with frosty white lustre and traces of light gray on the high points of the design, a result of very light circulation. This is from the same reverse die as the Bearded Goddess, and is highly collectible among date and major variety collectors due to the blundered reverse die. Fortunately for those collectors, this is a common die marriage. Light clash marks on both sides. There is no indication of die cracks on either obverse or reverse. The reverse die is heavily flowlined, indicating substantial use. From Superior's sale of the Jascha Heifetz Collection, October 1989, Lot 605. |
