Light gray surfaces with gold and blue along the borders. Traces of lustre remain visible, especially on the reverse. Faint hairlines are also noted.

This is the first of the Pointed 6 varieties and is a distinctive Guide Book type without the branch stem continuing through the eagle's claw.

Light obverse clash marks. Russ Logan held this in his collection as "O-109a" although it appears to be the prime state of these dies to our eyes. Although stars and letters are drawn to the edge with very little milling, there does not appear to be any evidence of the die cracks described for the later die state.
