Light gray with heather toning in the fields. An attractive example for the grade with very few minor scratches and abrasions.

Although the Mint records indicate a total production of 1,190,000 coins, just three die varieties are known from pairings of three obverse and three reverse dies. This fact alone suggests that many of the total were dated 1835. Emission sequences support this supposition.

First use. This is the only obverse die use. The reverse was later use for 1835 JR-6 and the second use of this marriage.

Obverse and reverse dies perfect.

Purchased April 1980 at a Wooster, Ohio coin show.
