Light gray surfaces with wisps of rose and pale blue toning. An attractive example. Slightly weak on eagle's neck. Small dents are located on the upper and lower knobs of digit 3. Although only considered scarce today, this variety received a Rarity-5 listing in the Dime Book. No examples in the Dime Census were recorded better than EF-45, although today, at least one Mint State coin is known.

This is the first obverse die use prior to JR-5 and the only reverse die use.

Perfect obverse and reverse.
