Both obverse and reverse have several light scratches and other imperfections. Medium gray and heather fields with lighter devices. The date is very weak due to the reverse die state. This is an extremely important die state as described below.

The obverse has a very heavy crack joining stars 1 through 5. Digit 3 is closed by a die crack with a small die chip inside the lower curve. The reverse is cracked through tops and bottoms of MERI with a short crack from leaf to rim. The reverse has a massive rim break from border to scroll from right side of A in STATES to upright of F.
