Light gray surfaces with a few minor abrasions and rim bruises. Heavy splashes of dark toning are primarily seen on the obverse. An extremely important late die state as noted below.

The reverse has a heavy retained cud from border to tops of UNIT. This entire area is raised above the surface level of the reverse with border dentils visible through the cud. Other cracks are as described in the Dime Book.
