Both obverse and reverse have light gray devices with similar obverse fields. Deep steel and iridescent toning is noted on either side. A few light abrasions are present including a light scratch from star 4 to Liberty's nose. A common die marriage available in all grades.

Second use of the obverse after JR-2 and the only reverse die use.

The obverse has very faint clash marks. A die crack joins the bases of 31 with another from border to hair curl left of star 13. The reverse has a crack from border to scroll through A of STATES and another from border over right side of M to tops of ER. Other cracks are noted from tip of right wing to arrowhead, through tops of ITE, and from tip of left leaf to the border.
