Slightly weak central details on the obverse. Light gray surfaces with considerable lustre. The surfaces are lightly abraded suggesting an EF-45 grade to Russell Logan, however, the lustre suggests the higher grade we have assigned. This is the finest of any listed in the Dime Census. Two others are tied with Russ Logan's EF-45 grade. This die marriage is also known in Proof although none were recorded in the Dime Book.

First use of the obverse die before JR-8 and second use of the reverse after JR-5.

The obverse has a very light die crack through the curls at back of head from the ribbon to lowest curl. A tiny crack connects the upper and lower knobs of digit 3. Perfect reverse. The period in denomination is weakly visible.

Purchased November 1982 at the CSNS Convention in Detroit, Michigan.
