Very light gray with pale gold toning and traces of lustre. A few trivial abrasions are evident. This is one of the common varieties of 1827 dimes. Only two finer examples are listed in the Dime Census. Second use of the obverse die after JR-5 and the only use of the reverse die. Perfect obverse. The reverse has very light clash marks. Purchased March 1993 at a Cleveland, Ohio coin show. |
