Lightly abraded pale gray surfaces with orange and iridescent toning. Several minor scratches are noted. A difficult variety that is generally found in lower grades. This example is the finest recorded among 14 examples in the Dime Census.
Second use of the obverse die after JR-2. The reverse die was later used for JR-4 and JR-5.
The obverse has a very light die crack from the border to right side of 0. Perfect reverse.
