Light gray with peripheral golden brown toning. A pleasing example of this scarce date. A few very light hairlines are visible. Just four die varieties are known dated 1801 (plus the Proof restrike) and all are considered slightly scarce. This reverse die has defective T's in the legend, each missing their right foot. This feature provides an immediate attribution point.
