A wonderful example with pale gray central obverse and reverse, lighter gray on the devices, and steel and iridescent toning along the borders. The surfaces have very faint abrasions. This example is third finest among just 10 coins in the census. A scarce variety that is extremely hard to locate in high-grade. This variety was produced from the obverse of 1835 B-1, 2, and 3 with a unique reverse not used for any other varieties. The obverse die crack through bottom of 5 is extended slightly further than on the B-2 quarter, above. |
