Cleaned and now lightly and naturally retoning with wisps of light gold on both obverse and reverse. Very faint parallel marks are noted on Liberty's bust to her neck. This is possibly the scarcest variety of four produced with the 1828 date. This may also be considered the only "true" 1828 quarter dollar variety as the other three combinations each used a reverse die left over from a previous year's coinage. Both obverse and reverse dies are unique to this variety.

Perfect dies.
