Attractive light gray, slightly lighter devices, and somewhat deeper at the borders. A small toning spot is just left of Liberty's chin. Mint records reflect a total of 102,000 quarter dollars struck in 1828. The coinage consisted of four varieties combining two obverse and four reverse dies. Three of the reverse dies were used in earlier years. This variety is from the obverse die also used for B-2 and B-3. The reverse was earlier used for the 1827 B-1 Original Proof quarters.
