Logan-McCloskey Plate Coin, Page 265. Bright silver surfaces with considerable lustre. In 1977, Rarcoa offered this as "Extremely Fine to About Uncirculated with almost full lustre." A scarce variety that is difficult to locate in higher grades.

This is the fourth use of obverse 1 and the first use of reverse DD. The obverse has a very light crack through stars 9, 10, and 11. Perfect reverse.

This reverse die was used for four die marriages and three additional remarriages with the following emission sequence: 1835 LM-7, 1835 LM-8.1, 1835 LM-9.1, 1835 LM-8.2, 1836 LM-1.1, 1835 LM-9.2, 1836 LM-1.2.

From Rarcoa's 1977 CSNS Sale, Lot 347. Ex Stewart P. Witham.
