Logan-McCloskey Plate Coin, Page 207. Cleaned with bright silver surfaces. Sharply struck with considerable lustre and reflective fields. Described in the Coin Galleries catalogue as: "About Uncirculated, well struck. Mostly bright from a past dipping, but shimmering fields and light retoning make it a very collectible specimen."

Just three finer examples are listed among 15 coins in the Census. First described by Walter Breen in his 1958 supplement as unique. It is unfortunate that Breen did not record where he had seen some of these new varieties he described. Today, it is no longer possible to determine what coin might be the discovery example. This is a very scarce die marriage and is difficult to locate in higher grades.

Second use of obverse 2 and also the second use of reverse P. Perfect obverse. The reverse has weak clash marks and several very light die cracks.

From Coin Galleries' sale of July 1990, Lot 2450.
