Logan-McCloskey Plate Coin, Page 206. Sharply struck with soft, frosty lustre and very faint champagne toning over silver surfaces. A small rim bruise is present at 8:00. Only three finer examples are listed among 19 coins in the Census. This is considered a common variety and is known in all grades through gem Mint State.

Previously certified MS-62 by PCGS.

Second use of obverse 1 and the second use of reverse R. The obverse has clash marks in the left and right fields, and also between the date and bust. A faint die crack from the border through digit 1 continues up to left joining the ribbon on Liberty's drapery. Both first and second S have upper and lower loops filled. Minor die chips partially fill other letters of the legend. Several die cracks are noted. Most prominent of these is a heavy crack through T of UNITED to the upper left corner of the scroll, following the top of the scroll to lower right curve of final S and rim. A branch crack follows the left diagonal of A in STATES to the border. Light clash marks are also present.
