Logan-McCloskey Plate Coin, Page 177. A lovely example with prooflike fields and outstanding iridescent toning. The obverse is extremely sharp with full central details and prominent borders. The reverse is similarly sharp. This example is the finest of 11 examples recorded in the Half Dime Census. This is a rare die marriage and is generally found in lower grades.

Previously certified MS-62 by NGC. First use of obverse 3 and the seventh use of reverse J. Perfect obverse. The reverse has die chips within N, M, and the final S. Light clash marks are visible in the fields.

Purchased October 1994 from Jerry Farrington.
