Its a good thing I called FSDO after having a mid-air with a deer.  Jay,
the A&P at <a href=http://www.logan.com/lnraa>LNN</a>'s FBO called them
stating someone left some airplane parts behind.  (I guess they didn't
read about the level 1 alert at CGF) They thought I hit the deer landing
and left with a know broken aircraft (I know I can't spell, but I'm not
stupid :-) Here is the letter they ask I write:

<p>September 4, 1997 around 9pm EST at <a
href=http://www.logan.com/lnraa>Lost Nation Airport</a> in VFR after
raising the flaps and applying full power on the third touch and go, I,
Robert R Logan PPL ####, noticed a deer trotting across the active
runway directly in front of my <a href=images/mytiger.jpg>AG5B</a>/<a
href=images/mypanel.jpg>R</a> <a href=images/n123vb.jpg>N123VB</a>.  I pulled
hard on the yoke but made contact with the deer on the right main
landing gear and right elevator counterweight.  Not knowing if I had a
main landing gear, I elected to continue the much-reduced climb to CGF
where two low passes for ground crews confirm I had three wheels.  The
landing was uneventful. 

<p>My last night flight prior to this was August 23, 1997 between CGF and
TSO.  I have 293.7 hrs total flight time with 93.1 in the last 90 days
all in Tigers.  My last medical was June 29, 1995 and my private
checkride was October 16, 1996.  I attended a FAA sponsored GPS seminar
at Oshkosh August 3, 1997 and the Complete ATC seminar May 14, 1997.
