I was stationed at Holloman (HO) when this occured, it wasn't really a lucky shot.....they saw him because the F-117 was recently (at the time) configured to drop CBUs (Cluster Bombs) so e was at a lower altitude than normal GBU drops.

I heard the commander of the SAM battery was a smart man, moving all of the time, not switching the radars on, and only communicating by currier (no electronic interception).
What happened to the debris? Did it end up in China or Russia? Im sure theyd have paid top dollar.
