Probably a case of ground resonance, very common for the TH55 back in the 60's at Fort Wolters.

Looks like a 55 at Dempsey Army Heliport, Ft Wolters. Solo student got into ground resonance, basically ended up still strapped in the seat sitting on the ground with the cyclic and collective still in his hands - not a scratch on him.

Saw the aftermath of one at downing and witnessed one in action at a stage field with an instructor in board. I don't like Oleo Struts.
