aye overkill
The USSR were tricked into stealing a faked set of plans for various parts of the concord including the wings ... thats why they had stability problems and required the cannards (sp?) ... do a quick search on the NET.

The TU-144 was the original supersonic airliner.

Brit Flyer
A woman was charged a few years ago in Britain for selling plans to Tupolev for a supersonic airliner. Having said that, look at them. The two aircraft are so different anyway.

If Concorde is a copy then my Dad had an easy time when he was on the design team, the airframe and engines were completely different so how Russia's ill fated attempt can be described as the one that was copied is beyond me.

Concorde was the best air liner produced! Maybe they should punch some windows in a Rockwell B! and then you would have something to rival concorde lol

Personally I'm not a big fan of Concorde because we had to give up our space program to afford it. Somehow I think the ability to launch satellites would have been more useful.

This one did, in fact, crash at an airshow in Paris:
"CCCP-77102 / 451 (cn 01-2) A few minutes later the aircraft crashed in Goussainville after taking avoiding action for a Mirage."
Note the build number of 451 in the text and reference the picture.

Have you ever thought about what laws of physics are the same everywhere.
And when you are trying to solve the same physical problem, is very likely that you will come to the same solutions?
