sure doesnt look like he ran out of airspeed now does it...
if he ran out of airspeed it would be a hole in the ground, not spread out wreckage

What happened what the engine ingested a bird and lost all power moments after the wheels left the ground. This accident happened in Korea, not shute which base, either Kunsan or Osan AFB

Jay in Korea
That is Osan, F-16s fly often out of their. I am not sure of the gate you enter to see it, but it is not the Songtan gate. THe two display birds are still there.

A guy stationed there
Happened at Osan, near back gate. F-16 with full armament ingested bird on takeoff, lost power. Pilot ejected safely, civilian woman in silver car suffered broken arm from flying debris. Road closed for two days to clean up unexploded ordnance, including AIM-9Ms.

Definatly Osan air base which flies F-16's and A-10's, this happens to be the Dolittle Gate. I drove by those static aircraft every morning on the way to work.

I Spent eight years at Osan Air Base. Doolittle gate is at the bottom of pic, just out of frame on the left is Security Police/Forces supply. This was a bird strike, the USAF loses about 1 F-16 a year to mishaps.

Work continues at Osan crash site
5/30/2003 - OSAN AIR BASE, South Korea 8 p.m. May 29.
A pilot from the 36th Fighter Squadron was taking off on a training mission in the F-16 when the crash occurred. The aircraft was carrying inert bombs and a captive training missile when it crashed.

What used to be an F-16. It was bird strike on take-off. It was early in 2003 at Osan Air Base. The pilot ejected safely. The jet almost killed an A-10 Pilot coming in the back gate; hence the car parked there.

It could have taken that F4E out, I worked on that one in VietNam. Still a piece of junk. As for the F-16, damn good flying not to hit anything except the ground. B-1rd-1, airchine-0

i'm so glad to have found this!!! we're constantly entxriemenpieg at different places, but don't have the time or enough local interest to put it on our blog. two asian places that i would suggest off the bat would be Yings Tea House & Yum Yum on high street in clintonville, which has gained some popularity and Hometown Carryout and Deli (or deli & carryout) in the Microcenter shopping center on Bethel rd. Both are phenomenal and more traditional fare than you'll find elsewhere.
