Book Groups

Bloomsday Book Club ~ fourth Thursdays, 7pm ~ A small but stalwart group of readers is tackling the great Ulysses by James Joyce.  Many have named this book the greatest piece of literature in English written in the 20th Century.  It's a lengthy tome though, and the group support and literary interpretative guides are helpful.  Want to know what all the fuss is about?  Feel free to join us, newcomers are welcome to this informal group. Austeniana Club ~ fourth Thursdays, 7pm ~ The Austen book club has already worked through the six novels by Jane Austen, but is now working on spin-offs, inspirations and posthumously published works by Austen, including the Fitzwilliam Darcy trilogy and Lady Susan.  Interested in talking Austen?  Join us. Writing on Your Feet with Sarah Morton  Mondays, January 19, 26, and February 2; 6:30-9:30pm This 3-session intensive workshop will introduce you to alternative ways of creating solo performance work. We will move through a series of physical and improvisational exercises to spark ideas for stories and characters, and then explore ways to ‘get it down’ on paper and shape your discoveries into dynamic, theatrical monologues.  All levels of experience are welcome!  Tuition.  Enrollment is limited.
